In an emergency, safe drinking water is a priority for sustaining life. You can't afford to take chances with inferior, less expensive purification options. You need the best to ensure your family's safety! That's why GetReadyGear carries Katadyn's Micropur MP1 tablets.
Katadyn's Micropur MP1 chlorine dioxide is the next generation of chemical water treatment and the easy-to-use water purification tablet is safer than iodine or chlorine. Unlike other products that may be EPA registered for bacteria only, or bacteria and Giardia only; the MP1 tablets are the only tablet or liquid that is EPA registered as a water purification system and controls viruses, bacteria, and protozoa (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium).
The Micropur MP-1 works in all water conditions and requires various wait times prior to drinking potentially infected water.
15 minutes for bacteria and viruses in any water
30 minutes for protozoa in dirty water (around 68F)
4 hours for protozoa protection, if the water is dirty and cold (less than 40F)
Unlike chlorine, MP1 does not leave chemical by-products (like trihalomethanes - TTHM's) in your water. MP1 leaves virtually no taste. In fact, it can actually improve the taste and odor of treated water.
Each pre-measured tablet treats 1 liter (quart) of water with no mixing or measuring. When diluted in water, Micropur MP1 tablets release chlorine dioxide, the same substance used in municipal treatment plants worldwide to disinfect drinking water.
MP1 comes in convenient 10 packs with each tablet individually sealed for a 4-year shelf-life and is tamper/child proof. Simply use a knife or scissors to open.
