Water Supplies for an Emergency
Emergency water supplies are the most vital of resources you must have during a disaster. 3 days without water will significantly impact your ability to survive a disaster and may result in long-term health issues.
If you currently have emergency water stored in your home or office make sure that is fresh. If not, replace it immediatley. Also, ensure that you have at least a 3 day supply of emergency water for those in your home or office. When a large number of individuals need to be cared for, consider a larger water storage barrel.
Even if the emergency does not restrict the availability of your water, you could experience a water system breach that potentially contaminates your water. In such cases you'd most likely be issued a “boil water” order for all drinking water from your local authorities. Having an adequate water supply would avoid the need to boil water. |
